Joint Admissions
Joint admissions indicates that a student is admitted to two partnered institutions at the same time—a community college and a four year university. It allows the student to start at one school while already having a guaranteed pathway to the other, often with coordinated advising and smoother transfer of credits. You can opt in to joint admissions at any time.
Opt inArticulation Agreements
An articulation agreement is a formal document that identifies courses from a sending institution that match or substitute for specific requirements at a receiving institution. Completing an articulated course confirms that the student has received the appropriate instruction and is prepared to move on to the next level at the receiving school.
benefits of agreements may include
- Guaranteed acceptance from a NECC academic program to a specific major or program at a baccalaureate institution
- Mapped NECC (college-level) courses
- Assurance of complete transferability of coursework within the guidelines of the agreement
agreements are not necessary to transfer
While beneficial, agreements are not required to transfer. Most colleges and universities will award credit based that benefits students while also adhering to major requirements. For more questions about course transferability connect with the NECC transfer advisor, or the prospective school’s transfer admissions representative
